Layers are eating chick food, is this bad

I have pullets and chicks, and of course the mama bird. Seems everyone wants to eat the start and grow . It's getting frustrated trying to set food out for all ages, my pullets are 15 weeks, my chicks are 6 weeks, and my layers are a year old. They are all in the same pen, so separating the food has been pretty impossible . I have been giving the older girls oyster shell.

You're right. It is nigh on impossible. Just allow everyone to eat the Starter and life will be easier. The hens will pick at the shells for calcium, while the chicks don't normally show much interest. Most feed companies also sell an All Flock or Flock Raiser type feed for everyone too.
