Layers on starter...

Will it effect my layers ability to lay if they eat the starter I have out for my chicks?

If they eat a lot of it (so that they don't each much of their layer feed), it could make their shells weaker. However, if they just eat a little bit of it here or there, I don't think it will cause any problems. You can counteract any shell-weakening effect by giving your hens free-choice oystershell or finely crushed eggshell.

Maybe you also know if the medicated chick starter is bad for layers or the eggs...?
