i have 2 out of 8 pullets laying eggs 3 of the 8 are about 16 weeks old the other 5 are about 19 weeks old is it a bad idea to start feed laying feed ? im giving oyster shell free choice . can i do the same with the laying feed?

Probably not--try mixing it with the starter/grower you're using now--a little layer, mostly other. Once the old feed is used up they should all be laying.

You could free feed the layer type. I just put layer pellets in a separate dish and let the ones that want it eat that and the rest of them eat the flock raiser crumbles.

i gave them feed in a seperate feeder now they have free choice .... i have 2 barred rocks and 2 EE 1 turken they are the oldest ...also 1 rir, 1 brown leg horn,1 glw. i think 1 of the barred rock and the turken are the ones laying eggs
