At what age did your girls start laying? I have 3 each BR, RIR, BO that are 19weeks old--only one is showing red on her head or face..

At what age did you fellow start to make crowing noises? My roo is the same age and he makes NO crowing noises at all! He makes a clucking noise when he finds 'goodies'--nothing else!

expect eggs anywhere from 19-25 weeks, crowing usually starts 16-18 weeks, and it will take them a while to get their voice.

My bantam roo started crowing @ 13 weeks - my Golden Comet roo started crowing @ 10 weeks, my Polish rooster started crowing around 18 weeks. As for the laying - most of my hens started laying between 20 and 24 weeks - my red sex link hens started laying this week and they are only 15 weeks.

Comb/wattle development is not the only harbinger of egg laying there are other signs. But generally, 6 months is the standard time to lay.
Cockerels usually make their first crows at 3-4 months. You may have a genuine anomoly.
