Laying age for golden laced wyandottes

I was looking at getting golden-laced Wyandottes but some websites said that they lay at 4 months and some sites say 9 months. I need chickens to enter in the fair when they are laying so I need to know a more reliable time when they are laying.

The jist I got is it's between 4-6 months. The thing is, no matter what breed, they only lay when the conditions, feed, climate, etc., is right for them.

For instance, I raise silkies and all high quality, no mixes, so all are pretty much the same. Some will lay at 5 months, some not until 8 months. Websites will say 6-7. There is nothing here to explain it other than those later layers weren't ready yet.

Welcome to BYC. I've had them in the past. They laid at around 22 to 24 weeks just like most of my other hens.

Realistically between 6 and 8 months depending on strain and time of year. Daylight period is extremely important in initiating egg production.
