We are super excited! One of our hens just started laying. She's only 4 months (and 1 day).

Are there breeds that tend to lay early? Just trying to figure out which of our 5 hens it may be. Supposedly we have a Java, a Jersey Giant, a Plymouth Rock and a Blue Plymouth Rock... and Gizmo, our mystery chicken. We bought them at Tractor Supply in March so the stated breeds could be wrong and Gizmo was always a mystery.

Can we get a pic of all the girls?
I actually tried to get pics of them today, but they weren't having it. This is my daughter's flock. She has lots of pics, but she is out of town this week. I don't have current pics.
The one in the pic I posted is Gizmo, our mystery chicken.

Thanks for the pelvic info. I'm trying that tomorrow.

How old were they when you got them from TSC? I see an Easter Egger pullet and some Sapphire Gem pullets. In the first picture you are holding 3 eggs are these from the new layer? Do you have older pullets/hens housed with your younger pullets?

@Brahma Chicken5000 Forgot about the Sapphire Gems ... If I understood OP correctly, all 5 pullets are 4 months old (Java, Jersey Giant, Plymouth Rock, Blue Plymouth Rock & a mystery chick/Gizmo) purchased at TSC in March. Was not aware of a Blue Plymouth Rock. The 3 eggs are from these pullets ...

OP pullets are "hens" when they are a year old as are cockerels then Roos.
