While I was painting I came up with an idea for a liner for my laying boxes.

I cut a kitty litter bucket in half to use as a liner. The ridge around the top makes it slop towards the back.

Anyone ever try this ? how did it work out?

what a great idea! I have an empty kitty litter box in my recycling right now! May I ask what did you use to cut the buckets?

I was planning to use a hand or circular saw but then I remembered..... I have a table saw

I set the fence to 1/2 the width and made three cuts (side, side, then bottom)

I actually bought cheap litter boxes at the dollar store for the same effect- much easier to clean the coop now.

Great idea! I may have to up grade, I just used place mats I picked up at a dollar store. My place mats are flimsy, may have a lot of spillage. Your idea resolves that problem, thanks for sharing.
