Laying boxes.

What should I have in my laying boxes when the hens are ready to lay? Straw,Hay, or Pine Shavings? The hens are nine weeks old so from what I can find out will not lay for some time yet. Thank you.

We have used all 3 types and they all work fine. Just depends on what time of year and what we have on hand from horses. It is really just a preference.
