Laying but no egg

[My Very First 6 Chickens]

Is it common for a chicken to go lay an egg and nothing come? Anything i should be aware of? Its only 12:30 in the afternoon, so maybe its not uncommon for her to try again later today? Thank you kindly.

Did you interrupt her? Mine will get up and leave the nest when they see me and go back later to leave an egg.

Also, when was the last time she successfully laid an egg?

And yea, can confirm that my more skittish birds will leave the nestbox when I enter the coop. They'll come back after I leave though.
