Ok i got a bunch of chickens over a week ago an they were laying before i brought them to my house. i feed them layer pellets in the morning an cracked corn in the evening. Why arent my chickens laying eggs? how long does it take after they are transford to a new place do they start laying?

How old are these birds? Are they perhaps starting their molt? Corn is not a good food, although people like to feed it, it is low in protein compared to lay mash or crumbles/pellets. Change up sets chickens, if you are feeding them well, providing them with enough calcium, a clean, dry, draft free place to live, enough roost space and not over crowding them, they will lay. Stress, Old Age, and the Molt will all affect laying.

Best to you and your birds,

When I have transferred chickens into new digs, they generally lay the next day or too, then take 3-5 days off. Then start up again. If you are in the northern hemisphere we are going into fall, so the days are getting shorter, and they will lay a little less, with the least amount of eggs in December - January, by mid January my egg production starts kicking in.

Many times, this time of year, people sell a bit older hens, who will slow down and molt in the late fall, really decreasing their egg production, but generally come the spring, the eggs will be bigger and the production rate will rise quite a bit.

Are they the only birds you have...or did you add them to an existing flock?

Moving stress can take a couple days to get over....or a couple weeks. May take longer if added to an existing flock as there is more stress involved.

Your feed regime is low in protein, and that is not going to help with laying.
Either cut out the corn, or feed a higher protein feed and just give a bit of corn as a 'treat'.
A nutritionally balanced feed should be available all the time, not just a couple times a day.
