So every morning for the last three days I have come out to 4 eggs, we only have 3 ducks, and only two are laying.....

I'm a little concerned, is this normal, its mid winter and we live in Canada, its been flippin cold the last few days!!

We let our girls take a break in the winter, so no supplemental light or heat. Just their deep winter bedding and insulated shelter.

TIA,
Worried mama

How old are your ducks? are all 4 eggs nice shelled?
It's not unusual for once in a while a duck to lay 2 eggs in a day but not consistently. What breed?
The are 2 year old Pekins, the shells are perfect, Im just not sure why they are laying soo many

The farther north you go the less daylight you have right now. I would suspect light poloution first. Its not unusual for new layers to overproduce. I had a hard time getting my new layers to stop this winter.

Oh good to hear! Thank you
