Hello there and welcome to BYC!

If they were really traumatized when the other bird was taken, it can really shake them all up. Sometimes it can take a while for them to relax enough to get back to laying. You might post this question in our Ducks section for more help with this too...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks

I hope they get back to laying for you soon. :-)

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm so sorry about the loss of your duck. I'm a chicken person and don't know a much about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. You should post this on our duck section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks where I'm sure our duck experts can help you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your ducks.

Certainly they were traumatized if they witnessed what happened. Everything likes to eat poultry. If predators are successful they keep coming back. They may even be casing the place when you aren't around to keep the poor ducks agitated.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X5 on the Duck forum, good luck with your ducks, hope they start laying again.

Glad you joined us! Sorry to hear about your loss. The others are most likely stressed from the attack and should start up again when they feel safe.
