I use the deep litter method and my young chickens have just started laying. Most are doing good, they are taking after the older chickens and laying in the egg nest which is about 18 inches off the ground. But there seems to be one pullet who wants to lay her eggs in the wood chips/saw dust. I can't find out who it is because its too cold for me to stay out there and everytime I do go out there and check its too late. The nesting boxes have golf balls in there to let them know where they are supposed to lay. I've had a problem with chickens not laying where they were supposed to but nothing like this. The golf balls fixed the problem now this one is laying under where she sleeps. Any help is appreciated.

Set up an individual nest box for her on the floor. When she starts laying in it move it up. I just cut up a tub and lowered the front to make it easy to get in and filled 2 with soft wood chips
