laying eggs in the dirt not in the coupe

What should I do? I have one chicken that lays her egg in the coupe two others just started laying and they are laying on the ground..how do I get them to lay in the coupe...Do I lock them in there for a couple of days??? The coupe is really big and I only have 6 chickens.....and info would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any dummy eggs (i used some golfballs) in the nesting boxes?
mine did the same thing, till i put the dummy eggs in there.

We have used the free golfballs we find, courtesy of the golf course next to us, lol. Despite the nature of the round, white, golfballs; ours lay their large brown ones right next to them.
