I have one little pullet who needs her privacy, apparently. I let them out to free range for an hour or so when I'm home and most of the weekend days. I've caught this little girl, several times, coming out of a little lean-to my boyfriend's son built as a "Fort" when he was small. Sure enough, I've found an egg once in awhile. Saturday she was squawking bloody murder, so I made sure to check the fortress and voila...a little nest with 4 eggs way in the back corner. Ok, so she wants her space.
Well today it was very windy, cold and raining so my BF kept them in the run and coop. He just phoned me at work to tell me there were 4 eggs in the nest----- but our lonesome dove was squatting in the galvanized feeder....and laid her egg there. What to do, what to do!
