First time they have done this. Anyone else have this problem. Not really a problem yet but hell I gt a nice warm place for them to do so. Why do it out side in the run....Just wondering....jim s

Sometimes they just get taken by surprise. I get a few run and barnyard eggs whenever a new batch of pullets start laying. Mine have always figured it out pretty quick so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My hens all lay in the nesting boxes. But yesterday, when I let them out of the run, one of the hens dropped an egg in the doorway on her way out the door.

I've had a hen lay an egg while sitting on the roosting bar.
