When pullets start laying most have control of the process. They figure out where the nest will be and, when it is time, they go there and lay an egg. But quite a few don't have full control. The egg seems to come as a surprise. The pullet drops it wherever she is. That might be from the roost or just walking around the coop or run. So don't be surprised if a few eggs show up about anywhere.Random Eggs??.... What do you mean?
As I said a lot of them get it right from the start, but enough don't that is should not come as a surprise. Most get it figured out in a few days.
