Our five girls have been using their nests like clockwork. Now all of a sudden (for the last week) we are finding from 2-3 eggs laying in the poop board! How do we get them to stop? I put golf balls in the nests last night to re-train them but this morning there were 2 eggs in the poop board again! We are baffled! Any suggestions on getting them to stop? By the way two hens are 1-1/2 years old and the other three girls are fairly new layers. It's the small eggs we are finding in the poop board as I think about it.

I would guess it's the new layers who are doing this. They may not even feel those small eggs coming. Hopefully, as they get used to the idea of laying eggs, and their eggs get larger, they will quit that nonsense for you! I guess you could remove the poop board, temporarily, if it's easy enough to remove it, though if they are dropping the eggs from the roost onto it, that probably won't help.
