Laying eggs while on roost

Quote: Yeah, that's not unusual.......even in a months of planning coop, there are almost always alterations to be made and things to learn as you gain experience.

I have a simalar issue. One of my newest layers is laying "rubber" eggs, almost like a bouncy ball, off of the perches in the early morning. She has plenty of calcium though. How do I get her to stop?

My hens egg shells are nice and hard but they crack when they fall from the roost to the coop floor. try to keep straw/hay underneath but the darn chickens keep piling it in the corner of the coop. :/
