i got my 6 hens a few weeks ago from some amish folk who didn't know the exact breed.

anyways, the first day i had them i got an egg, and ever since then i'v gotten anywhere from 1-4 eggs a day.

with the heat wave we just had, i didn't get any some days. it's now back down in the 80's and i'm still not getting any. MAYBE 1 every other day.

no idea what the deal is. also, i couldn't find an existing thread that had the same circumstances, so sorry if this is a repeat

thanks guys!

hey guys, thanks for the replies!

they don't seem to be molting... they have tons of room and i'm feeding them layer mash supplemented with some fruits and veggies.

Older hens are not as diligent in the nest as young ones. The move, combined with the heat, may have caused them to stop laying, and they may, if they are older birds, take a while to restart. My older hens cut production quite a bit when it gets really hot.
