LAYING HEN WITH CHICKS

Hello, I have a total of 3 hens and 1 rooster in my coop. One of the hens has been setting on eggs and I hear babies under her. In the past when a hen a=has set, i have found the babies dead, killed by the other chickens.

I have a separate pen next to this one that can keep the mother and babies apart from the other chickens. When is the best time to move them?
