Laying hens with "water belly" or "ascites"?

I posted this earlier in this thread, but we bought 240mg Milkthistle, open the capsule and give her 120 mg per day, split between morning and evening.  Sprinkled on food or a treat. So that's about 1/4 capsule per serving.  She's a bantam BR, so she weighs about 3 lbs.  Might need more for a bigger hen, but probably not much more.

So possibly half a capsle?

Not sure exactly. She is half blue andalusian. She is 2 times bigger then our silkie polish mixed roo. Atleast by eyes she is

Ascites in 11 2 month old chicks?? My friend said 7 babies dies today and 4 are left. They ALL have watered bellies! How is this possible?

However isn't that odd?? I mean how common is that? I have 3 of their siblings and they are just fine

I guess. i mean I don't know really. I've never had any cases either, before this one. It sounds odd, but hard to say without knowing more details. I've never heard of chicks having it at all.

Ok I've miss understood. The chicks have some sort of growth on the chest right under their neckline. I have it posted in the illness forum
