I've been raising chickens for about three years. I have 39 hens of varying ages and breeds. I'm sure I have at least 3 or 4 that are past laying age. From October to February they layed from 23-31 eggs per day. In March till the present we've been getting 23-28. With the longer days I would think I'd be getting more eggs. In the winter(28-50 degrees) they were eating a bag of laying pellets every 4-6 days. Now in warmer weather(50-80 degrees) they are eating a bag of laying pellets every 8-10 days. We feed whole corn, scratch, and bread in the late evening as a fun food all year. They have a large area enclosed perimeter and bird netting so they aren't free range exactly. Thanks ahead of time for your input.
