laying or not

How can i tell if she is laying or not. I have read many diffrent things to look for but nothing seems to make any sence. Any oldtimers on here have any idea i can try? Thanks......jim

How old, what type of hen?

diffrent ages and all kinds. A big mix of 85 hens. nothing over 2 years old. only getting 6 or 7 eggs a day right now.

are they getting between 12-14 hours of light? Are they going through molt?

yes they are getting 14 hours of light and i know some are in molt but for the rest of them to shut down is crazy.....

no clue then. I would look for a secret nest with lots of eggs if they are free ranging or maybe they are reacting to a change in temp, change in feed, egg eating, who knows. Good luck. That is definitely way too few eggs for that many chickens.
