With nothing changing from a dietary standpoint for our girls (lay mash w oyster free choice), have noticed a marked slowdown in egg production. Poops are normal, everyone's behaviour is the same. Going from around 1 egg per chicken per day to maybe 1 every 4 days per chicken. They aren't laying them outside either.
Our girls are all nearing 1 year with the exception of two BCMs that are close to come into lay (they're eating grower).
Only change really is that our broody silkie has been sitting on eggs, but she's been sitting well separated under the poop boards for everyone to see.
Certain it will pick up again, but any ideas as to slow downs periods?
