Laying soft eggs?

Hi, one or two of our hens have laid a couple "mushy" or "soft" eggs. I'm understanding that this is common in hens just starting to Lay? Our hens are about 5 - 6 months old. We're giving them food for hens laying eggs, and proteins and probiotics in their water. Plus other chicken treats, watermelon, leftovers (green beans, rice,veggies)......Is there anything else that we should be doing?

Soft shelled or even shell-less eggs are not uncommon with new layers. Make sure the treats you give them don't make up more than 10% of their food intake and feed treats after feeding their layer feed in the mornings, so they get a good calcium boost first. If the problem persist, see here:
