I have 8 wyondottes (4 silver, 4 gold.) I was wondering when they will start laying they are 10 weeks old? I was told that my ISA browns that are the same age will start laying when they are 15 to 16 weeks. Is this true? Anything will help thank you!

I am unsure of your specific breed, but average age is 18-20 weeks. Depending on the breed and time of year this could be shorter or longer. My seven new additions to the flock, all different breeds, reached 20 weeks old after the days became less than 10 hours a day, and they didn't start laying until 24-26 weeks of age. Likely it would have been sooner if they days were still long. Chickens usually need 14 hours of daylight to stimulate egg laying, but new layers may start in the winter and lay until the following winter as mine did.

Most breeds start laying at 18-28 weeks.
Some my start earlier(especially high production hybrids), some later.
Can depend on diet and/or time of year.
