Laying

One of my four girls starting Layin on Monday and every day when I let them out in the morning it was there sitting waiting for me to pick it up, yesterday she did it in the pen. And today no egg in house so I'm guessing she will lay in the pen later , do their laying patterns change much ,

Yes, it can be regular or sporadic. Laying can stop for a few days if the hen has had a scare or a change in her life. New layers lay sporadically, too. Also, the egg-making cycle is a bit longer than 24 hours so you'll have days that are skipped in order to catch up.
