lazy 54 hatchery?

Yes, they used to be Shanks but got new management. Lazy 54 farms are always at shows om the coast and they have great birds. They focus on dual purpose in the sence of show and production so they have great buff orps that lay like hatchery stock. We ordered from them a few years ago and got great birds, a couple chicks died and they refunded money. Great people.

Well I got my chicks from them and had one that died the next morning. I have emaild them to see if I can get another chick but haven't gotten a responce. The rest are doing great! Hopefully I hear back from them and can get another one. Thanks for all your replys:D

I paid for sexed pullets and ended up with a flock of roosters from this place. They were unresposive to my emails...and pretty much the same in person. Also got 4-5 deformed chicks from this company. I would not recommend!!

Shanks/Lazy 54 is out of biz. Check with Pete at Oregon Peeps in Estacada. Good guy, able to get most breeds.

The term "lazy" especially when used in the name of a farm doesn't refer to the ambition of the owners. It's a leftover from the days when all your stock were branded. Lazy in that context refers to a letter, number or sybol oriented 90 degrees from normal, thus appearing to "lay on its side" or be "lazy". A "lazy 3" for example would look somewhat like a "w".
