Lazy red sex link?

Purchased 3 red sex links yesterday at tractor supply. Thats what they told me they were anyway. One of them just lays around and doesn't do much, whereas the other 2 are crazy doing normal things like scratching and running around. The lazy one does eat and drink and doesn't appear wounded in anyway. Could it be that it is just lazy or could there be something wrong? The guy told me they were 4 days old. Any help or suggestions would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

I would say if it is eating and drinking that is a good sign - just keep an eye on it. Might just be a laid back chick. Good luck to you!

Sorry but the post just got away from me. I wanted to say, I don't think chicks are lazy - there is probably something that is bothering him. Does he lay near the others when they nap, or does he go off to himself. Do they have a heat lamp and an area that is cooler so they can decide where they want to be. He may have had a rougher hatching experience and still be worn out from it.

Are the other chicks picking on him? Do keep an eye on him .

Chicks do spent a fair bit of time just lazing around, but if yours is doing it more than the other two there may be something wrong. Did you check it's bum for pasty butt? (Poop clogging up the vent) Give it a little bit of sugar water and see if that perks it up.

It was hanging out by itself, then noticed her limping a bit. Put her in her own place. Seems much happier now. A little perkier. I am going to assumed she hurt herself or got run over by her roomies. But will be keeping an eye on her! Thanks everyone!

you could try giving her a drop or 2 of Polyvisol infant vitamin drops(NO IRON) it would give her a little boost.
