Plans to construct a complete roof over our chicken run had to be put off until the Spring so we are left with a peaked roof on half of the run and the rest is covered with hardware cloth.
The question was: How do we remove the snow that was accumulating on that hardware cloth span without climbing ladders and pushing brooms?
Answer: Gas-powered leaf blower.

It worked quickly and very well.

BTW, we got about six inches.

Ha! I love it.

Hopefully a nice breeze blew it away from dropping right back down?
What did the birds think about that!

Aimed strategically, the snow blew away and didn't drop back down. Took a little practice!
The ladies were not impressed. They stayed as far away from the noise as they could in a fluffy huddle but recovered quickly once it stopped.
This worked a lot better than my first attempt at HWC snow removal which consisted of me standing under the HWC and beating a broom against the HWC repeatedly until the snow broke up and fell through the HWC---on me.
Score another one for the power tools!
