I have a Little Giant 3-gallon double-wall fount and can't figure out why it is leaking. It's on the wooden floor of the coop, and I finally took it out because the floor and shavings were soaked. Tried several times to refill it. Filled it, put it in place, put the sleeve over the top, and it filled to a reasonable level. But when I come back a few hours later, it has overflowed. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I know I won't buy one.... Krisrose has one that leaks all the time. It's been on this site before with people having trouble with them. You have to have it perfectly level or it will leak. Krisrose had it where it didn't leak for a couple of days and then start.... who knows...did a chicken bump it or what??

I have *zero* experience with these ... in fact I'm looking to get a new waterer myself because we're still using the 1 gal chick waterer plus 2 quart ones, and I have to refill a LOT but ...

(Assuming you can't return it) ... if the problem is that is has to stay perfectly level, is there a way that you could hang it and would it stay level then, and not leak?

Just trying to help.

It has to stay perfectly level and you have to fill it all the way up to make sure a good vacuum is formed. Apparently though there are issues with that waterer so I stick to my one gal chick wagerers and open buckets.

Even hanging it is a problem....still have to get it perfectly level...and the handle doesn't help. Someone welded a washer to the handle to help. Too much of a pain for me. I want something that will work, without a lot of work!!

Thanks all. Glad to hear it isn't just me. I would return it and the other one that I haven't even used yet, but bought them from American Livestock, so don't know if it would be worth it. Will probably keep one for outside and try to sell the other.
