8 days in couting! Anyone else totally excited?

I cant wait to see what I get out of the 30 in the new bator . I got everything running good so i hope it goes well. I need more hens I hope they are mostly hens. lol the last 2 hatches were about 50/50. I hope it is that way again. I have one black old english bantam in sick bay now.

Fingers crossed for pullets

I can't wait to see what they look like once feathered, I'm not sure who the father (Cochin bantam or Silkie) of my eggs are and I added in eggs from another farmer. So it's like a big guessing game.

Lockdown is on Monday. I've candled all my eggs and about 60% of them look like the ones on the candeling chart on BYC.

How are the other leap year hatches doing?

Just candled mine for lock down. I have 29 moving and looking good and one i am not sure of that went in a day late. I hope everyone has a great hatch.

I got my 2 reptipro 500 thermostats but I dont think I will use them in this bator I am very happy the way it is running now with the hot waterheater one. I got it to hold @99-100.2 it is 1.5 inches from the light bulbs. Did anyone else lock down today i set mine the seventh i think today was lock down.

I have a couple chicks and emus due to hatch on the 29th.. one of the emu eggs has started peeping.. so he might hatch a day early..

Cool hope it goes good. The emus are big birds aren't they? Mine alway seem to be a little early too.
