learning about chickens

My family and I are just finishing up a new coop that we built out of our existing kids play-set. We are now on the hunt for pullets! This is our first time raising chickens. My kids eat at least 2 dozen eggs a week so we are looking forward to having our own one day! Joined this forum to learn all I can and maybe find some pullets for sale.

Thanks everyone! Looking for hens that will be good with kids and lay a lot of eggs! Lots of bugs in the yard as well so there will be plenty of treats for them. Really not that picky on breeds at the moment. Also not sure how many to get with the coop that we have...i am assuming it can maybe hold 10-15 comfortably??
