Learning that home made incubators isn't as easy as I thought

I built an incubator using a plastic Igloo cooler, water heater thermostat & pc fan. I'm on my second hatch with it. First hatch was 4/10, but I think I had humidity issues. The temps only fluctuated between 99-100 degrees. A 40 watt bulb worked best for me.
And yes, it takes a bunch of fiddling around with placement of all the components to get things right. There are a lot of extra holes in mine that I had to plug up.

I keep plugging them up with either the kid's air-dry clay or tape...depending on the severity of the hole. Looks like I've gotten as close to my prime temps as I'm going to get so I may stick to that.
