I got my chicks last Sat and next Sat we are going to be gone for pretty much the whole day, staying overnight and back home mid day Sun. Will they be fine? We aren't going far and I have to come home to feed my other pets so can take a peek in at them but I am so nervous! When my husband mentioned it I told him we were going to have chicks just over 2 weeks old and I wasn't sure how comfortable I was with it. LOL Am I just being a nervous first time mom and they will be fine? It isn't like I do much with them besides visit, make sure food is full, fresh water and check butts which hopefully by then I won't have to worry about that anymore. I just worry that if I am not here besides a quick drop in for 24 hrs or so something could happen and I wouldn't hear them. LOL

Fill the feeders and waterers. Freshen up the bedding and go enjoy yourself. They will be fine. When you peek in on them, they will be happy to see you. You can top off the water and feed. Hope all goes well!
Thanks. I figured they would be fine but I can't help but worry! haahaa. I have 2 - 1 qt nipple waterers in there so only fill them about half way and change them every other day and they aren't empty even doing that. Their food is in a pvc pip that is like 12" tall so holds a LOT of food that I haven't had to fill it again since I got them on Sat (I thought they would eat more so probably put more than what was needed in there to start). I have pine pellets for bedding so for now I have just been mixing it around so the droppings aren't at the top until it starts to break down more or has any smell at all and then I will change it out. So know they will be fine for a day

Hopefully I am doing everything right so far with water, food and bedding......... Oh and I use a MHP so no worries on a fire with a lamp as well.
