Leaving for the Weekend

Have you ever left for two days and just put several water buckets and a big pan of food in for your ducks? Will that work?

I admit I need to get someone to cover for me when I'm away, since their night shelter is too small to coop them up for more than a few hours except at night, and my nature is to not assume that everything will go smoothly.

maybe you could do that and just get a neighbour to check on them?

We have great friends who take care of our ducks,and animals,while we are away. I would check if some of your neighbors are willing to take care of them while your gone.

I have my neighbor watch my ducks and geese for us when we are away.

It worked perfectly.

You can set each of the 2 dishes up to 48 hours in 2 hour increments.

When it counts down, it slowly opens up.


I also left out 2 bowls of water.

If you have more than 2-4 ducks i'd recommend getting something a little bigger than the one i bought.

I would worry that the piggies I have would eat all the food the first night, poop in the water and then have no food or clean water for a day and a half. Or that they will poop in the food bowl, or something else ducky. Much better to have someone check them at least once a day. JMO

I will have my niece keep an eye on them. I didn't think they would overeat, as mine sometimes have food left in their dish in the morning. They certainly know how to get that water dirty though. I put my water in buckets and then set the buckets in a rubbermaid tub, which I have cut down the front so they can get it, but not splash it too much, or poop in it. thanks for your thoughts.
