Leaving them in the coop for a day or so?

Is it terrible to leave your chickens in a coop for a day or so w/out coming 'out'. We want to camp this weekend, but the run is not done. We've been letting them free range. Our neighbor-girl can check on them, but I would never expect her to try to catch them to put them back! Would it be bad if they were in a coop for a full day? They'd come out Friday and Sunday, but not Saturday... Thanks!

No, it's fine as long as the ventilation is good and the coop doesn't get baking hot during the day. Have fun on your camping trip.

How many chickens, how old are they, are they full sized or bantam, and how much space do they have in the coop? If they have enough space it is not a problem.

Whew. There are 7 chickens in there, but I'm drawing a blank on how much room they have. I know there's room for lik 4-5 more, so they do have plenty of room, I suppose. There is plenty of ventilation, and it hasn't been too warm here. The chicks are 2 - 3 months old. Thank you!
