Hello!
We recently moved to Lee's Summit, MO and chickens are allowed in the city. We live in a neighborhood with an HOA but there is nothing stated about poultry in the bylaws. Is there anyone else that lives in Lee's Summit that has gained approval with their HOA to keep chickens?? Thanks!
Erica

Since Lee's Summit allows them and your HOA doesn't have any by¬laws regarding them do you need their approval?
we may not need approval for the chickens but the HOA strictly prohibits outbuildings of any kind (sheds, etc..dog runs). I found a plan for a coop that is basically an addition to existing house with same color and roof line so we will probably go that route. Hope they accept it!

An HOA can change their bylaws as they see fit if majority rules.
You may end up having to get rid of them later if they are approved now.
Any change in board members or complaints can ruin your plans.

So this is the only Lee’s Summit forum I can find (I’m new here on the whole chat thing) I got chickens in April, and recently they’ve gotten kind of loud. Can we get in trouble with them making so much noise? (We have 5) They’re generally quiet, but every now and then go crazy, especially in the morning. I don’t think my neighbors would complain, but you never know how some people will react. Also, any rules on ducks??? Because we just got a couple of those as well.
