So I don't have a picture of my two cockerels, 81/2-month-old Ludwig and 19-week-old Victor/Rameses, standing back-to-back on the dog crate keeping an eye on things while I was in the coop trying to find a golf ball the girls had kicked out of the nest.
Ludwig is 1/3 larger so Victor/Rameses's tail tucked neatly under the curve of Ludwig's. It's was quite impressive. They really did look like they were intentionally teaming up to watch both sides of the coop at once.
I know that there are no guarantees that these boys will continue to get along, but so far so good.
