Left vent open entire incubation period - dry hatching

I do 100% dry hatch, I don’t add any water at any time, the chicks hatch really easy, so far my hatch rate has been about 95%, we’ll see what this batch does, I have another batch that supposed to hatch next Friday.

Actually, I’m giving the dry hatch method a shot with one of my incubators currently! I’m very excited to see how it goes. :)
I haven’t lost any chicks so far either, I really like it, there’s no smelly water, incubators are easy to clean, the chicks hatch with no problems and are very healthy.
I watched a lot of videos on YouTube and decided to try it, I will definitely keep doing it.
Please let me know how your hatch turns out.

I’ll be happy to! However, if things go sideways one way or another with this batch of mine, they have been through quite a few… events that could have an effect on them that’s unrelated to the dry hatch method. I plan to try dry hatching some fresh eggs around the end of this year or the beginning of next year to get cleaner results. ;)

I will set another batch next week, then I have quail eggs ordered, I will have to keep an incubator open for them.

number 10 just hatched.
It’s bedtime, I’ll check on 11 tomorrow.

10 is all I’m going to get, I candled the remaining egg and it was no good, I don’t know how I missed that.
