I've had offers of a product left over from brewing beer from a little brewery in Berthoud...they say all their backyard farmers feed it to everyone.

What's everyone's take on this?

I know chickens will eat just about anything, but that doesn't mean they SHOULD, right?

Thanks all!

From everything that I have heard, it is good stuff., and wonderful for chickens.

If it is free, TAKE IT!

You can always try it out in small doses, and if you don't like it (or you chickens don't like it) put it in the compost heap.

I dumped the grain from a 5 gal batch into the compost pile. The chickens spent the rest of the day there until dark and filled up so much I'm surprised they could still get up on the roost. Their crops stuffed more than I had ever seen.

You just need to make sure their diet is still balanced if you give it too them regularly.
