Could someone tell me what info the leg bands have on them? I have a lil fantail that has one on each leg and one of them is REALLY hurtin her, I'm afraid she may loose that foot so I am taking band off, just wondered what it means anyway. Thanks so much

is for breeding that way you can keep you with it but it ant going to hurt to take it off

if you got a lot of pens and in pen 1 you got the male with a blue leg band and the hen with a green leg band when you get the eggs to hatch you know witch is witch its like color coating your birds

OH I see. That makes since. All of mine (only 10) are together with the pheasants. So it's not hard to figure out since they are very true to each other and they share the work! Males sittin' on the eggs during the day and females at night sure makes things easy for me lol

Thanks to both of you for the info

there are different kinds of bands the ones from npa au or if are closed bands for different size birds they come in sizes with year and numbers to identify owner at banding can not be removed after the birds is around 3 weeks old they are put on at about one week of age. personalized band are closed banded too come in different sizes also . mateing bands are plastic different colors and numbered the snap and spiral type are the most used like used for poultry

OH NO!!! are you sayin I may not be able to get this thing off of her??? Haven't tried yet as I am scared I'm going to hurt her worse, just been babyin' her and tryin' to work up my nerve!
