Leg issues baby chick

Just got this little one yesterday and didn’t notice the legs until I got him home. Is this fixable, will the little guy survive?

If you can start treatment early the chick has a good rate of survival the longer the wait the less of a chance

Thank you both for the articles! Very informational. I just applied some tape tonight. I will bring home some VetRap tomorrow to use. The chick is only 3 days old, so hopefully this early intervention will help!

That is splay leg or spraddle leg, and can be fixed if done early. You need to bring the legs closer together in a normal fashion about 1 1/4 inches apart and make a hobble with strips of vet wrap or a bandaid cut in half lengthwise.
