Newbie here.
My three month old chicken has deformed legs. I initially thought it was splayed leg that I saw too late but it seems that they are growing increasingly deformed. After combing through the forums it seems that it may be a vitamin deficiency. The thought has crossed my mind that perhaps it would be best to "put her out of her misery" but I haven't had the heart. Although she's by no means at the top of the pecking order, the others don't seem to torment her. Recently a couple of neighborhood dogs broke into the coop when I wasn't home and all of the chickens including the gimpy one managed to make it under the canoe unharmed. At this point will supplements help? If she lays will her eggs be ok to eat?
