Leg mite treatment and discovery

I am slightly concerned that my red star hen might have leg mites I am not completely sure.Does anyone know how to detect scaly leg mights and if she has it what to do?

If red ( the red star) does have leg mites it is note as bad as that silkies I just noticed that parts of the scales on her feet were coming off but I didn’t notice her to be in pain.

So I watched the video. Do you/should you always peel their leg scales off that are affected by leg mites? Or is that just during certain occasions or....???

We had leg mites in our coop and I didn't even realize what was going on until it was bad on quite a few of them. So we had to treat all 8 of them. We just used Vaseline for 2 weeks, applied thickly once a day but never removed any scales. Should we retreat and remove those scales?

I've only learnt what I know from that video. I have never treated leg mites before
