This is not a very good picture, but it's the best I can do right now....I might try with my camera today. This hen is new to my flock, but I noticed scales on her feet are lifted. Does that mean she has leg mites? Her legs look fine. I've been slathering her with vaseline for a week and yesterday bathed her with flea/tick shampoo. I just can't tell if this is an active thing or if it was in her past.

Yes if the scales are lifted that is scaly leg mites.

For 2 weeks, dip each leg in mineral oil (or veg oil) daily and this will smother the mites. I tried Bag Balm (vaseline) but it didn't seem to work as well.

If you are treating lice or mites on her body as well, be sure to retreat every 7 days x1 for mites or x2 for lice (or at least at the 14 day mark) due to the life cycle. Permethrin dust works well.
