My gosling had to be helped out of its shell a week or two ago and it seemed she was getting stronger and was making progress, but now she's not able to walk. Her legs are splayed and straight out on the sides of her. How do I help her?

Tie a little bit of dental floss to each of her legs - making sure that the distance between the legs is what it should be normally. Do this TODAY - right now. The floss brings them together and allows her hip joints to readjust. She may not recover if she is two weeks old though. Better to try before giving up though.

Leave it on for a few days to see if she makes any progress. My gosling had spraddled legs and I did the floss trick when she was 3 days old - she's fine now.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I would have tied them before, but she had started to seem like the problem was correcting on its own. Then in the last two days she's regressed. I didn't have any floss that I could find, so I used some yarn and I hope it works. Thanks.
