I've got a batch of pharaoh quail in the incubator and these guys are going to be harder to tell apart than the tuxedo gang when they feather out. I've been thinking of ringing my quail for identification. Anyone else do this? What size leg rings do I need?

I used these for my quail chicks. They worked awesome. These are the exact ones I bought, and the perfect size for quail chicks. https://www.ebay.com/i/254389416444?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid=1110006&algo=HOMESPLICE.SIM&ao=1&asc=20161006002618&meid=b8952a2af2704b1a8f09986667e8e8ad&pid=100694&rk=2&rkt=30&mehot=none&sd=254510721271&itm=254389416444&pmt=0&noa=1&pg=2386202&algv=DefaultOrganic
You'll want to move up to the size 3 or 4 when they start to outgrow them though. When I was changing to the next size, I somehow accidentally missed one chick. Since these bands are such a soft stretchy rubber, it eventually snapped off on its own. They won't be permanent bands by any means, but they'll get you to adulthood. You can do 2 or even 3 bands on each foot for different color codes too, since they don't come in many different colors. The shipping was really fast too. I got 100 bands and still have 20 left over.

I use the same one’s, I got them on amazon tho. The size xs is perfect for chicks, and s is fine for adults. They eventually break off, and will stretch without getting grown in or causing damage.

I ordered size 4 Spiral Leg Bands for Poultry from Stromberg' s Chickens. They come in different colors that you can choose or packs of mixed colors. Each hatch gets a color. Males on left leg and females on right. I put them on at 6 to 8 weeks. No problems.
