Hi friends!
So I have 8 baby chicks that just turned two weeks old today. I have noticed 2 baby chicks who have experienced this situation:
They try and burrow themselves under the pine shavings or dirt (when they are outside playing) and then when they try to get up their legs do not work for about 30-40 seconds. They seem alert and attentive but they kind of just fall to the side because they can not get stability in their leg.
I pick them up when this occurs because I noticed that the other chicks would be pecking at them.
I have read about Marek’s Disease and am worried this is it. So far I have seen 2
Occasions with two of my chicks. They are eating and drinking fine.
Any suggestions/advice?
